MEDICAL-GRADE
POLYETHYLENE
TUBING

Medical Grade Polyethylene Micro Tubing - Use

This non-sterile rigid but flexible micro medical-grade polyethylene tubing has excellent chemical and gas resistance. It works extremely well in applications with vacuum or pressure. It can be sterilized with ethylene oxide or an electron beam. This milky white translucent tubing is non-radiopaque and is non-reactive to tissue. Will not impart taste and odor. This PE tubing does not contain plasticizers. It has a temperature range up to 215F° (103°C).  Manufactured in the United States.

POROUS SHEETS
(10, 35, 50, 70, 90,
125 & 200 MICRON)

Porous-Sheets-Use-4-300x218

Our polypropylene and ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene porous sheets are manufactured with high-purity resins and free-sintered materials that produce filter media providing excellent filtration of ultra-fine particles and outstanding flowability of gases and liquids. The filtration varies depending on the micron size. They can be used for filtering particulate, diffusing or venting gases or wicking applications. We offer two varieties that achieve 99.8% filtration efficiency. The porosity of all of our sheets is approximately 35-40% void volume.

POROUS RODS & TUBES

UHMW Porous Rods - Tubes

Our Porous Rods & Tubes are available in hydrophobic and hydrophilic formulations to accommodate your needs.  Porous Rods are used in wicking & venting applications. Through capillary action, our porous plastic wicks are capable of drawing aqueous & non-aqueous fluids out of a reservoir for dispersion through direct absorption or evaporation.  Our Porous Tubes are made from UHMW (ultra-high molecular weight) polyethylene, PE copolymers, or polypropylene with an average pore size from 5-200 microns. They are strong at various wall thicknesses with the ability to withstand high levels of pressure. The material is resistant to many chemicals & a wide range of temperatures.

POROUS PTFE RODS, TUBES & SHEETS

Porous PTFE Rods - Tubes - Sheets copy

PTFE Porous Rods, Tubes & Sheets are excellent for use in extreme heat up to +500° F (260° C) and resistant to a low end temperature of -328° (-200° C).  PTFE is used in applications where other plastics break down due to their inability to be resistant to chemicals and heat.  It is said that PTFE exhibits a combination of mechanical, electrical, chemical temperature and friction resistant properties unmatched by any other substrate.  It is a non-reactive, high molecular weight fluoropolymer compound used in aerospace, pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical fields.

BLUNT TIP PIPETTING NEEDLES

Our 2″, 4″ & 6″ long laboratory blunt tip pipetting needles are available in gauges 5 through 30. Needle lengths of 12″ long are available in 8 through 27 gauge. All needles are made of 304 stainless steel and fitted with American standard short female luer hubs of nickel-plated brass. The short hub reduces the dead volume inherent in all American standard luer hubs. Needles are supplied with a 90-degree blunt tip.

REINFORCED MICRO EMULSIFYING NEEDLES

Reinforced Micro Emulsifying Needles - Resized

These double-reinforced micro emulsifying needles have a second 3/16″ diameter tube that jackets the smaller gauge stainless tube inside. It allows for higher pressures to be used to emulsify. They are ideal for mixing allergens, adjuvants, antigens, and oil-based liquids where liquid media varies in viscosity. Cannula length is 3″. Total length is 4″ long.

ETCHED PTFE FILM

Etched Teflon Film - Use

These sheets of PTFE etched film are manufactured from non-stick virgin TFE and PTFE and are used as a top for work benches, industrial gaskets, wear surfaces, drainboards, sinks and shelf liners.  They are non-porous and non-absorbent and therefore will not retain odors.  PTFE has a temperature range of -320° F to +500° F.  These sheets meet USDA 21CFR 177.1550 and UL-94.  No surface conditioner is required if you use one side etched PTFE film.    Manufactured in the United States.

PFA FILM

PFA & FEP Film - New Pic 10-29-20

PFA (Perfluoralkoxy) holds its shape under stress and high temperatures better than PTFE.  PFA has a temperature range of -320º F. to +500º F.  The PFA film is clearer than the FEP and has a higher temperature resistance.  Ideal applications for this fluoropolymer are 3D printers, tank and pump linings, UV applications and gasketing and mold release.  These materials offer excellent electrical insulation, chemical resistance, weatherability and low permeability. When using PFA Film with 3D printers we strongly recommend using at least 5 MIL or 10 MIL thick film.  Manufactured in the United States.

FEP FILM

PFA & FEP Film - New Pic 10-29-20

FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) holds its shape under stress and high temperatures better than PTFE.  FEP has a temperature range of -320º F. to +400º F, is FDA compliant, and meets UL 94V0 for flammability.  Ideal applications for this fluoropolymer are 3D printers, tank and pump linings, UV applications, and gasketing and mold release.  These materials offer excellent electrical insulation, chemical resistance, weatherability and low permeability.    When using FEP Film with 3D printers we strongly recommend using at least 5 MIL or 10 MIL thick film.  Manufactured in the United States.

FEP HEAT SHRINK
TUBING & TUBES

FEP Heat Shrink Tubes & Tubing

SCI fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) heat shrink tubing & tubes are preferred for their lower shrink temperature, greater flexibility, optical clarity & lower costs.  The clarity of FEP is ideal for medical applications where visual inspection of jacketed components is required.  This FEP jacket protects parts from high heat, chemicals, abrasion and moisture.  This tubing is supplied in the expanded state and when heat of 420°F (215°C) it will shrink by roughly 15-20% on small tubing diameters and 20-25% on the larger diameter tubes.  This is referred to as 1.3:1 ratio.

EXPANDED PTFE SPONGE SOFT GASKET

EPTFE Expanded PTFE Sponge Soft Gasket

EPTFE is an expanded 100% virgin PTFE resin. The finished expanded PTFE exhibits characteristics significantly different than standard PTFE sheet. The EPTFE is softer and more flexible and therefore it conforms much easier to rough and irregular surfaces. This softer material is more compressible and has a lower cold flow rate with minimal creep. It is compatible with aggressive chemicals from a range of 0 to 14 PH, except molten alkali metals & elemental fluorine. This clean and non-toxic gasket material is used in the food & drug, petro chemical and pulp and paper industry as well as the distilling and marine industry. It resists temperatures from -450° F to +500° F.

SOLID ALUMINUM TEST TUBE RACKS

Solid Aluminum Test Tube Blocks - Use

SCI’s custom manufactured heavyweight solid aluminum test tube racks are hard anodized coated. They are perfect for hot & cold water, and for ice baths. They will not float around or tip over while submerged in circulating liquids. They are ideal in sub-zero applications with liquid nitrogen. The small holes in BB208 and BB209 allow for drainage and circulation. At 1 1/2 pounds these solid aluminum blocks hold temperatures very accurately. The block dimensions are 5 3/4″ x 3″ x 1 1/4″ thick. BB216 measures 9″ x 3 3/4″ x 1 1/4″ Thick and weighs 2.4 pounds. Temperature resistant from -100°F to +300°F.
